I moved to Boise in 2007. And besides a short sabbatical in Illinois and Portland, I consider myself an Idahoan and I'm proud to call Boise my home. In my ten plus years here in the Treasure Valley, I feel like I've seen almost everything this area has to offer except wine tasting at Ste Chapelle.

I've heard a lot about it and even seen the pictures friends post on social media. I don't know why I never made it down; it's not like its that far away, something I realized on the first-time drive 45 min drive to the vineyard.

My parents came to town for a weekend visit. And since their vacations usually consist of us staring at each other the entire day before dinner, I decided to pack them in the car and see what it was all about.

When we arrived, I was immediacy taken back at how beautiful it was out there. Breathtaking views of rolling hills mountains and vinyards. It felt like I was in a different place. The vineyard was offering a tasting special, five different wines for $5.

We spent a few hours drinking and talking. Definitely, a must do if your new to the area or just haven't been.
