Watching the Golden Globes last weekend and hearing Margot Robbie's name announced as a nominee for "I, Tonya" confused the heck out of me. Was the movie even out yet?

When they announced the film was in production, I immediately put it on my "must see" list.  I was born during a Winter Olympics and as far back as I could remember, I loved watching the games with my parents.  Figure skating was hands down one of my favorite events, so I followed it as much as I could as a child.  My most prominent memory of the Lillehammer games was the coverage that centered on Tonya Harding's role in an attack against rival Nancy Kerrigan just weeks before the games. Both ladies were selected for the Olympic team, but it was Nancy's time to shine.  She took home the silver medal, while Harding finished a distant 8th.

My childhood memories of the 1994 games and how much my mom watched the news coverage about the kneecap incident, is what made me so anxious to see I, Tonya. That takes me back to my original question. Was it even out by the time the Gold Globes aired?

I looked in IMDB during the awards show. It was. The movie came debuted in limited release on December 8 but no theaters in the Treasure Valley were showing it...until this weekend!

Interest around the film peaked with Margot Robie and Allison Janney's Globe nominations and reached a fever pitch when ABC aired "Truth and Lies: The Tonya Harding Story" in prime time.  With so many people curious about the film, The Flicks is bringing it to the Treasure Valley.  Right now it's scheduled to run from today thru January 18. Check out the show times below!
