Live for 175 is the Treasure Valley's annual Child Abuse Awareness Campaign focusing on the message that "It Shouldn't Hurt To Be A Child." During the past 11 years of Live for 175, I've met many people with unbelievable, heartbreaking stories. You can't really understand or comprehend how wide-spread child abuse is in our community, even when you come face to face with victims.

When I saw this story on KTVB about a couple from Rigby, Idaho who allegedly created child porn of preschooler, my heart dropped down into my stomach. Those words are hard to type and even harder to read.

A Rigby couple is facing the potential of decades in prison after they were accused of sexually exploiting a 4- or 5-year-old girl.
Joseph Lavern Harris, 30, and Elizabeth Dawn Evans, 27, were indicted on the charges March 27, according to the U.S. Attorney Office for the District of Idaho.

My heart truly goes out to the alleged victim in this story. The report states she was born in 2013 and knew the alleged suspects. It's stories like this that remind us how important it is to protect our children.
