With summer right around the corner it’s the perfect time to bring your kids out for the upcoming Summer Reading and Learning Celebration. It will be taking place this Saturday, May 18th at the JUMP building in Downtown Boise.

Boise Public Library, Ada Community Library, Rediscovered Books, and Boise Rock School are all partnering together to make this event one that will be absolutely memorable especially considering the Elephant & Piggie mascots will be there to hang out as well!

20 different exhibitors will be there to offer both educational and fun options for kids and family both all summer and all year long. All of the fun activities are local and will be available to be registered for.

The day is filled with an awesome schedule that everyone will be sure to enjoy.

From 10 am to 2 pm Mo Willem’s characters Elephant & Piggie will be there to take pictures and hang out with everyone. Boise Rock School student band will also be performing in the lobby and amphitheater of the JUMP building for everyone to enjoy. The story tent will also be open at any point during the day where books will be available to read and storytimes featuring Elephant & Piggie.

From 10 am to 12 pm the JUMP building’s amazing slides will be open for everyone to enjoy.

From 10 am to 12:30 am Mary Ann Frasier, a local author, will be at the Rediscovered books booth to sign her new picture book for everyone!

From 10:30 am to 11 am at the JUMP amphitheater the Boise Traditional Chinese Dance Group will be performing. Boise Fire Department Engine will be in the Touch-a-Truck area and giving a chance to hang out with the Boise firefighters.

From 12:30 pm to 1 pm the JUMP amphitheater will be occupied by Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo who will be performing.
