Born In Idaho: Small Town Star Goes First Round in NFL Draft
It was a 'down year' for Boise State football this past season--but then again, after making the College Football Playoff and having Ashton Jeanty on the team, any program in the country would have a hard time doing that back to back years.
What could the program have used this year, to keep them in the national spotlight?
Maybe they missed out on an Idaho stud all along!
A star for the University of Oregon, Kenyon Sadiq was a hot commodity in the NFL Draft just last night. The Tight End for the Oregon Ducks went 16th overall in the draft, to the New York Jets.
Thing thing most folks don't know about this Oregon Duck? He's actually a small town Idaho kid!
Sadiq grew up in McCammon, Idaho. A town with the population of...wait for it...just 824.
A graduate of Skyline High School, should Boise State have worked harder to get this true Idahoan on their roster?
One of our favorite things about all of this might just be seeing the reaction from Sadiq's alma mater which the NFL Network has shared on social media. The school goes absolutely CRAZY when he was drafted!
This is such a great Idaho moment!
While Kenyon didn't play at one of our state universities, he's an Idahoan and we're proud to have seen him as such a popular guy on the national stage -- night ONE-- of the NFL Draft!
