Idahoans Shocked By Cheap Gas Prices The Year They Were Born
If there is one thing that Idahoans talked about more than anything this year, we'd have to say the easy answer is: the price of gasoline. It was a very intense political year, looking back at 2022--we still remember the night that news broke of Russia's invasion in Ukraine. Say what you will about politics, there's no denying that this conflict almost instantly impacted the prices that Idahoans were paying at the pumps--and frankly, the entire globe.
As gas prices began to rise in Idaho and beyond, so too did the price to fly anywhere for vacation. Some travelers and commuters reported round trip flights from Boise to Salt Lake City reaching prices over $1,000-- for economy seats!!
So how much was gas on the year YOU were born? These national averages will make your head hurt
LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving
Have you ever seen gas that cheap since then?
Look, most of us aren't driving as infants so our first impression of gas prices probably didn't really come into existence until we got drivers licenses or began to think about drivers education.
Oh, the things we would do to have gas prices be that low again.
We did some digging to look back on the past year--and these figures will shock you too. The Boise 'Metro' saw some astronomical highs, the record being, according to AAA, $5.369 on July 3, just before the long weekend!
These days, AAA says that the Boise metro average is about $3.415 per gallon (we're talking regular, here).
The good news for you is, we do have some places that will allow you to get gas for under $3!
