When there is a need in the community, one thing that makes Boise special is our ability to step up and meet it.

Right now, we're seeing that in action.

Known to many as 'Boise's Nicest Drag Queen (there's even a shot named after her in downtown Boise), Elle, is going through a lot these days.

Richard--or, Elle--is a staple in the greater Boise community. He has coached hundreds of local cheerleaders over the years and made deeply impactful and positive relationships in the community that way.

Elle is also one of Boise's best known drag queens--super-serving the LGBTQ community in so many ways by sharing his talents, joy, and positivity.

One of our favorite things about Richard? He may have the city's most contagious laugh.

Friends of Richard and his family shared a bit about the health battle that he is facing on a GoFundMe page:

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Richard Hunter—also known and loved in the community as Elle Blue Nouveau—suffered a severe heart attack that required immediate life-saving intervention. By Friday, April 4, Richard was placed on life support, where he would spend the next five days fighting for his life with remarkable strength and resilience.

The page updated everyone on Richard's status on April 16th:

We’re happy to share that Richard is showing steady improvement. While there’s still a long road ahead, his strength and determination have been truly inspiring.

Obviously, the purpose of the GoFundMe is to help Richard tackle the medical bills that eventually, will be very extensive.

Interested in helping out? Richard (Elle) is one of those people that is always there for everyone and ever dollar or share helps. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE GOFUNDME PAGE.
