Idaho Officials Warn of ‘Super Flu'; Watch for These 8 Symptoms

It's that time of year when everyone is feeling a little bit burnt out. While the holidays, in theory, should offer some reprieve from the chaos of life, it seems that most times they add to it. The stress of travel, buying gifts, keeping everyone happy and entertained...it's a lot.

Now, folk are back into the swing of work and here in the Treasure Valley, the cold temperatures and grey skies aren't helping with optimism -- even if winter has been mild thus far.

Another common problem this time of year? The cold and flu.

People traveling and being close to one another can often mean a lot of bacterial spread.

Did you know that this year, health officials have declared that the flu is more aggressive than it has been in recent years? In fact, there is even a variant being dubbed the 'Super Flu'

There's nothing 'super' about coming down with this illness and it has been a peculiar year for sickness.

Experts have said that the flu shot put out this year was not quite prepared for the particular strain that seems to be picking up. They also stress, however, that folks should still get the shot to protect themselves.

Avoid close contact with those who are feeling sick, wash your hands regularly, and make sure to you stay home if you're feeling sick to prevent the spread.
