Idaho Vandals’ New Viral Football Helmets Cause Online Frenzy

When it comes to college football in Idaho, it seems that Boise State gets all of the credit. The big bowl games, the blue turf, the legendary alumni.

The Idaho Vandals, however, are about as grassroots and 'home team' as it can get. Despite the fact that the U of I and BSU rivalry feels about as dead as it has been in years--there are no fans more passionate and loyal than Vandals.

Unlike Boise State, who is getting ripped online this week following their loss to South Florida, the Idaho Vandals are being praised as their new uniforms have officially gone viral!

The helmet design has gone viral in just a matter of hours and soon, we hope to see merch available for purchase!

In a statement released by the University of Idaho combined with 'The Field Rush', a popular college football news and sports blog, founder Sky Sorenson said: 

For a media company like Field Rush to collaborate with the Idaho Vandal football program on a helmet design is unprecedented, and we couldn't be more excited! It's an honor to represent Idaho's flagship university while partnering with the Idaho Potato Commission to create one of the most unique helmets in College Football. We can't wait to be at the Vandals game this weekend and meet so many incredible Vandals fans. V's up! Go Fightin' Taters!

It's certainly an exciting partnership not only because of the partnership between the two brand--but because of its acknowledgement of Idaho's roots in a way that is so fun yet authentic.

The Vandals will be wearing these uniforms at their home opener, this week, against St. Thomas.
