The wonderful thing about cereal is that even though it's billed as a breakfast food, it really hits any time of day. Obviously it crushes as a breakfast staple. When it's lunch time and you're lazy to cook because you don't have much time on your half hour lunch break where you decided to run home to grab food anyway, cereal gets the job done. When the kids can't agree on dinner, suggesting cereal gets everyone on the same page. And of course when you wake up craving a midnight snack, a crisp cold bowl of cereal never disappoints. Heck, you can even snack on cereal dry and it's still delicious.

But what really makes a difference is what kind of cereal you're chomping down on. The incredible versatility of cereal doesn't apply to all kinds. No one is clamoring for a bowl of Grape Nuts at all hours. And if they are, I'm really concerned. Like, who hurt them? But I digress. Cereals like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Cheerios, and Cap'n Crunch come to mind. Even Froot Loops and Cocoa Puffs. But there's one cereal from long ago that according to Zippia tops the list as Idaho's favorite.

Apparently the childhood favorite Cookie Crisp is still doing its damn thing in Idaho. I haven't thought about Cookie Crisp since the early 90's honestly. And that's only because of the cartoon commercials. Haven't seen one in ages.

I was personally never a fan because it doesn't taste like cookies. I felt lied to! And it's hard for me to believe Idaho is really into it more than a Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Chex. But who am I to dispute research?
