We live in a time where, honestly, who the hell knows what’s going to happen? It seems impossible to tell what’s coming next, so all we can do is try our best to prepare. Governments, war, diseases, or hurricanes and other natural disasters — we need to make sure if something happens, we can be protected.

There’s a recent article from Stacker that shares the counties with the most emergency shelters in Idaho.

They said, “Over the last 50 years, natural disasters have become five times more common due to climate change, according to the World Meteorological Organization. They've also become more economically debilitating—the five most expensive climate disasters in American history have all taken place over the last two decades.”

Being that there are way more natural disasters now, it’s important to have emergency evacuation plans and to know where to go in the case of emergency.

Stacker continues, “Knowing where nearby emergency shelters are located is another way to prepare for the worst. In the event of flooding, hurricane-level winds, or other disasters, emergency shelters offer a place to sleep, and also often provide food, water, and first aid services.”

Thankfully, we’re not by an ocean here in Idaho, but that doesn’t mean we can 100% escape flooding or wildfires etc. These scary disasters can still happen in Idaho, and it’s important to know where to go if something like this happens.
