"Oh, that's cold" is what I said when I saw the alert pop up on my phone in the middle of the Bronco football home opener: "Cowboys release former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore." The story isn't over yet. There's still hope.

While baking in the 100 degree temperature at the Boise State home opener reading about Kellen Moore's release from the Cowboys, I started thinking about where he could go. If it wasn't for his pre-season injury last year, we wouldn't know how great Dak Prescott actually is.

Stupid injury.

My thought went immediately to seeing "Moore" on the back of a Seahawks jersey. Backup quarterback? Yes. Kellen plays with his mind and skill follows - a lot like Russell Wilson. It would be a perfect match. I mean, I'm already searching for his jersey on the Seahawks website at this point (in my mind) trying to avoid the feeling of my skin melting on the bleachers in the South End Zone.

Dream over.

The Cowboys vice president confirmed that Kellen Moore will return to the team. He was originally cut in favor of keeping undrafted rookie Cooper Rush instead. However, Rico Gathers, a tight end, has been placed on injured reserve yesterday. The rumor is that Kellen will take Gathers' spot.

Update: Kellen Moore has officially been re-signed with the Dallas Cowboys as of Tuesday, September 5th.

In the meantime, we're keeping an eye on Jeremy McNichols who was waived from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rumor is that he'll sign with the San Francisco 49ers. This all came out over the weekend.

That's your sports with Tawsha. Please don't ask me any more questions because I'm writing all this as I'm learning the information. I can soak up the info and share it but I won't ever pretend to have all the answers. I do have all the questions, though.

Feel free to chime in on the conversation by leaving a comment.
