I remember it like it was yesterday. I had only been back in the Treasure Valley for a little bit--it felt GREAT to be back. At the time, I was on 103.5 KISS FM from 7:00 p.m. until Midnight and getting home late was normal for me. It was a night like any other--I packed up and out of the office and was on my way home along Parkcenter Boulevard. As I passed Barbacoa and that pond there behind the patio, it looked like a giant ball of fire had hit our city-- the flames looked so close and so huge, I had no idea what to even think!  I saw the fire before there were even sirens responding. That's when I knew I needed to get back to the studio and on the radio. We talked to fire officials and police that night, LIVE, about what was going on and by the next day, the city was heartbroken to see our beloved Table Rock charred up....because of irresponsible firework use.

That Table Rock incident should be a reminder to us all...BE SAFE. With clubs and nightlife shut down, several fireworks shows canceled, one can only predict that the fireworks may be in our neighbors hands more than ever before. The options for Saturday night are limited. Here's to hoping we can all be responsible ourselves and encourage our neighbors to do the same.

Be safe, be smart, be socially distant, and here's to a great Fourth of July weekend, Treasure Valley.
