It only takes a second for something to 'blow up' on Boise's social media groups and platforms. With no pun intended--several posts late Saturday night through Sunday this past week have been trying to get to the bottom of a very loud 'boom'.

Despite the massive online investigation--we haven't been able to find an answer.

Here is just a very small glimpse of what folks are saying online about the boom!

Did you hear that big, loud boom?

We're still trying to figure out what on earth that 'boom' could have been from but it seems that nearly anyone that was awake late Saturday night, October 19th, heard this loud noise.

We've tried to find answers online and we're shocked that nobody has gotten to the bottom of it.

The Idaho State Journal described an area Air Force exercise on Facebook--which some say could be tied to the boom:

The sights and sounds of the massive exercise won't be limited to the F-15E Strike Eagle and F-35 Lightning II strike fighters and C-130 transport planes that are participating. There will also be simulated battles that will include warning sirens, smoke and pyrotechnics.

Nowhere in there does it say to expect 'loud booms'?

We reached out to the Boise Police Department about the loud booms just this week--however, after 4-hours of waiting for a response, we have heard nothing back.

Stay safe out there, Boise--and let us know if you hear a big boom!
