While a bunch of businesses are closing due to COVID-19 and the financial impact of the pandemic there is a local brewery opening a second location. Yes there are a lot of breweries in the Treasure Valley but if you appreciate a good brew you know there can never be too many places to quench your thirst. If you've been to Mad Sweede on Cole you may be salivating as you read this. The thought of getting out of work at 5pm and being able to walk to the new Mad Sweede downtown from the office for a Sunstone Hazy IPA or maybe a Naked Sunbather Nut Brown Ale surely puts a smile on my face.

Do I appreciate the Mad Sweede's brews? Yes, but I also appreciate their dedication to the craft and the belief in their product. While most wouldn't dare to open a new location during tough economic times, these guys have worked on their 816 W. Bannock location for over a year and are now open for business. The original plan was to open two weeks ago but as a result of some COVID issues at the Cole location they took the extra time to add an air purification system designed to kill viruses and bacteria.

The new downtown location will be open 7 days a week from 3-10 pm and will differ from the Cole location in that it will eventually become a full blown performance venue. According to their instagram @madsweedebrewing "In the short term they will be bringing comedy back to downtown Boise." Beers and a few laughs sounds really good right about now. See you at Mad Sweede downtown.
