On Sunday, October 2nd Mateo and I helped kick off Domestic Violence Awareness month at the WCA's SueB 5K at Julia Davis Park.

The WCA founded the race with Marjory Sente seven years ago in memory of Marjory's sister Sue who died after a mysterious horseback riding accident.  Sue had been training horses for years, so Marjory and Sue's friends didn't believe that the incident was an accident.  After getting together, Marjory and two of Sue's friends put together that their late friend was likely involved in an abusive marriage.  They went to the WCA to put together this run/walk in Sue's memory and to help teach others to recognize the signs of domestic violence before it's too late.

This year over 330 participants took a stand against Domestic Violence. Here's some of the photos I snapped before and after the race!
