First Lady Michelle Obama has a new campaign called "Let's Move!" and Boise is one of only 50 cities to participate!

Mrs. Obama's new program encourages young people to stay active, get outside, and make better food choices. It's designed to inspire kids to learn, play, and work outside. It will be directed by the Department of Interior.

David Jayo, senior advisor to the Secretary of Interior says:

It really is just connecting to nature and being outside; and then the learning and serving components are environmental ed, learning about invasive species, native plants; and then service, we always find that after a kid, or a person quite frankly, volunteers in a public space they actually take ownership of it and care more about it.

Why did Boise make the Obama list? Our commitment to local leadership, numerous non-profit networks, and breathtaking parks.
