Years ago, one of my friends ran for a college that did naked training in cornfields once a week.  I thought about it and I'm like gee...that sounds painful.  Give me a cute sports bra and we'll talk about MAYBE doing it in some undies one day.  8 years later, that day is here - Saturday, February 15th and I'm doing it for a cause!

In 2011 I had the incredible opportunity to train with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training for the Famous Potato Half Marathon in memory of my great Uncle Joe and in honor of one of my mentors involved with my high school track team.  That's where I met the incredible Hayley Brown.  She's was also doing the spring season and would be off to the San Diego Rock N Roll Marathon a few weeks after my race.  A few months later the teams got together for a little reunion and Hayley was super pregnant.  She'd gotten the good news while they were in San Diego for the race! She eventually gave birth to an adorable little girl named Nora who's now two years old.  At three months old, Nora was diagnosed with something called Neurofibromatosis that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. They can end up anywhere, on the spine, in the brain, leading to, often blindness, deafness, learning disability, behavioral disorders, bone defects, and a host of other problems.  Right now Nora's healthy, but the disease can kick in and start causing these problems at anytime in her life.

That's why Hayley went from runner, to race director and brought Cupid's Undie Run to town.  100% of the proceeds for this mile(ish) run around downtown Boise in your undies benefits the Children's Tumor Foundation which is trying to find a cure for Neurobiromatosis and help kids like Nora.  When I heard about it, I was immediately on board!  Run a mile in my undies and freeze for nine minutes to help find a cure that plagues these kids for a lifetime?  It's a no brainer!
