Cross country team meeting

As a former High School cross country runner myself, this is one of the coolest things ever for young female runners!

According to the Meridian Press, the Mountain View High School Women's Cross Country's almost perfect record earned them a #2 ranking in the Northwest and #24 ranking in the entire country!

Fresh off earning another the state title, the girls have a chance to qualify as a team for the Nike Cross Nationals for the first time in team history. The Nike Northwest Regional is actually held in the Treasure Valley at Eagle Island State Park and will host 70 teams from Oregon, Washington and Alaska.  If they can finish in the top two, they score a guaranteed trip to the national meet in Portland on December 3rd. A third place finish means they would still have a chance at making it with an at large bid.

I went to run the individual regional my senior year of high school (the Footlocker Regional) and it was an absolute rush where I got to run against some runners who are now Olympians.  This is a HUGE opportunity for the Mountain View women and we wish them the absolute best of luck!!!

Let's go MAVS!
