In writing an article about Oktoberfest's kick-off around the Treasure Valley this weekend, I came across the Hoptober FRESHtival that takes place on Broad and 6th in downtown Boise.

The Hoptober Freshtival is the largest fresh hop event in the Northwest. I had to ask because this is where my expertise is limited to playing the new Taylor Swift or dropping Pumpkins filled with ca$h. I know nothing about "hops." I called the professionals who are running this event at Boise Brewing.

"This is Idaho's original and largest fresh hip beer festival. Expect 60+ different beers from 30+ breweries that make up the best of local and regional brews. This is the freshest hops you'll ever experience the time is perfect. You can even meet the teams from the farms that actually grow the hops. This is a fantastic, local event for everyone."

That's from Jessica Rodreguez, marketing director for Boise Brewing, who went on to say how excited they are to introduce you to some hops!

Tickets also include commemorative sample mugs that get you 10 samples each. You can purchase extra samples for $2. There will be plenty of food from local vendors, music, the best-harvested hops in the Northwest!
