According to culture trip.com "Idaho is one of the best places in the US for brewing beer. It’s the biggest barley producer and the third biggest hops grower overall"

Now it all makes sense, when I first I came back to Boise a year ago I was blown away at the amount of breweries that had popped up since the last time I lived here.  Today on International Beer Day I thought I would share my 3 favorite Idaho Breweries.

1. Let's start up north a little in McCall, a few years ago after snowboarding at Brundage we we're starving and decided to hit McCall Brewing Company. Honestly I picked this beer because it has a VW Bus on the label and fell in love with it. Here is the official description of the pale ale... This dry hopped American Pale Ale offers Columbus and Cascade hops for a floral and citric quality. Slight malt flavor balances this ale out. The selection of beers they have is solid and one of my favorites.

2. 10 Barrel Brewing - Went there for the food and fell in love with the beer. During the pandemic 10 Barrel did something very cool, they created a Hero Beer that they would hand out free to honor front line workers. I absolutely fell in love with that beer and it is now my favorite beer, If you get a chance to try it, do not pass up the opportunity.

3.Lost Grove Brewing - This place has a really chill vibe and I love how they break their beers into different series. It makes it easy to pick your style. I enjoy the Social Club Session Series and more specifically the Teddy Bear Picnic Golden Ale. Checkout the official description...

Our Teddy Bear Picnic Golden Session Ale is bright and light bodied,

boasting strong notes of tangerine and grapefruit.  Followed by a clean and refreshing finish, it's the perfect all day drinking buddy.

It's International Beer Day, raise a tall glass to everything that is good in your life with your favorite beer today.
