It has been posted online a lot lately--an eerie, foggy, purple glow radiating above the Treasure Valley towards Star.

It's no joke--seeing these lights up in the sky can certainly cause your mind to wander!

Over the last several months, the Treasure Valley has, more than in recent years, been given the opportunity to see the Northern Lights in our own backyards--a spectacle that we've been totally obsessed with. While the purple hue gives off a look similar to the Northern Lights--it isn't that, at all.

Many commenters on the popular Reddit post got it right: it's purple light radiating from a seed farm located in Star, Idaho. When the clouds are low and the fog surrounds it, the lights are far more noticeable.
