Once the sun comes out to play in the Treasure Valley, just about everything changes in the air. Patios open up and are bustling, concerts move to our amazing outdoor venues, and people, overall, just seem a little bit more active.

One thing that is universal once the sun comes out? An increase in bicyclists on the road. In Nampa, drivers keep aware of bicyclists almost year-round on their roads and since the city offers a pretty great greenbelt to ride along as well, there is no shortage of bike enthusiasts there.

On Friday, June 30th, bicycle lovers--no matter their experience-- and families alike, can gather at a great local event that's going to offer a little bit of everything.

Hosted by St. Paul's Catholic Church, a 'Safety Rodeo' will be taking place from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church's event hall (500 W. Roosevelt Avenue).

On site will be two great local organizations--the Nampa Bicycle Project (who does amazing community work by refurbishing used bicycles for folks in need) and St. Alphonsus Hospital. Together, these groups will be teaching the community how to tune up their bicycles and even how to protect yourself while riding--which includes helmet safety checks.

Why hold it at a church? St. Paul's has even offered to bless your bicycle before you ride off!

One of the listed activities we loved the most? SMOOTHIES...blended by a bicycle powered blender!

Looking for great family fun and safety this weekend? Check out this local event, for sure!
