According to dontwasteyourmoneycom, Scammers have struck again. This time Netflix customers are potential victims.

How it works is you receive an email saying your Netflix account has been disabled due to incorrect info from your bank. You are asked to sign in to their fake site and update your credit card info so that you can continue to receive Netflix. But when you update you info, it's not going to Netflix, it's going to thieves who are stealing your info and using it to empty you bank account or run up unauthorized charges on your credit card. The email looks pretty legit and even includes a copyright and the Netflix logo.

The full email reads: “Dear User, We’re having some trouble with your current billing information. We’ll try again. But in the meantime you may want to update your payment details. During the next login process, you will be required to provide some informations like (billing info, phone number, payment info)" Another clue that the email isn't legit is use of the word "informations"  Misspelling or grammatical errors are usually a tip off that an email isn't real. That's not the only sign this email isn't real.

Like most businesses, Netflix will NEVER email you and ask you to update your account information.  Let me repeat that. Reputable businesses will NEVER EVER email you asking you to update your banking or credit card info. If you receive an email like this, don't click on it and notify the business, so they are aware. Never ever open an email that asks for you to update banking and credit card info, it's ALWAYS a scam.

I know most of us already know it, but make sure you're loved ones know, especially older senior citizens. They are some of the easiest targets and when this happens it's usually to late and the damage is done, so the easiest way to protect yourself is to make sure you don't fall for it so it doesn't happen in the first place.
