New Internet Threat Will Hold Your Files Ransom

Download the this "WannaCry" internet threat and you'll have all your files locked. To regain control, you'll be asked to pay for them. Know what you're looking for - this has destroyed huge computer systems across the world. 

WannaCrypt or WannaCry is a new ransomware threat that has been destructive to entire computer systems. If you download it and activate it, upon activation, it will lock down all files on your computer and then asks the user to pay to regain control. Payment is only accepted in Bitcoin.

This is a Windows issue. Microsoft has released a patch and if Windows Updates are current, you should be safe.

How do you avoid it:

If you receive an email from someone you don't know contains any attachment(s) or links, DO NOT OPEN THEM.

The majority of the attacks have targeted Russia, Ukraine and Taiwan. However, FedEx has also reported they had come under assault on Friday.
