If you're a fan of track and field, running, of you just love the Olympics-- odds are you know exactly who Nick Symmonds is. If you're a fan of these things and you're from Boise-- I'll almost GUARANTEE you know of the local running legend.

I follow Nick Symmonds all over social media not only because of my love for the sport, but because we share an alma mater in Bishop Kelly High School.  Nick went to school with a couple of my cousins and as a community, Bishop Kelly cheered him on from thousands of miles away during his World Games and Olympic appearances. I should also mention, his mom is simply one of the most amazing women I've ever met-- I may not have been the most amazing student she's ever had...but I'm grateful beyond words for how great of a teacher she was.  She taught me how to write effectively among many other life lessons that I have applied to outside of the classroom.

Needless to say, I was stoked when I saw Nick Symmonds recently share a video about his love for his hometown, Boise, Idaho.  Nick shares that at one point in his life, he wanted to be as far away from Boise as possible, but is now thankful it's a place he calls HOME.  As someone who moved away and swore I wouldn't be back as soon as I was myself...I feel this. We live in such a special place. Check out the video, below:
