We're lucky to live in a city that, for the most part, is always safe. Boise has been one of the best places to live not only in the United States but in the world--all because of our way of life--our safety--the way that we look after one another.

Unfortunately as Boise grows, despite all efforts, it seems that an increase in crime comes along with that.

A shocking story broke earlier this week, when Boise Police reported that there was a shooting near Cole Road that left two adults injured--one with life threatening injuries.

After being taken to the hospital, one of the victims, a 19-year-old male, passed away from the injuries.

Boise Police were quick to the case, reporting:

Based on evidence, officers were able to identify a possible vehicle involved and they located the vehicle at a residence on the 300 block of N. Meridian Road in Meridian. Officers established a perimeter around the home and Meridian’s Special Tactics Group responded to the scene. Around 1:00 am three male suspects were safely taken into custody.

Since being taken into custody, the suspects have been named:

  • Daniel Alaniz Pineda, 19: Murder 1st degree (F), Robbery (F) – 2 counts, Aggravated Battery (F), Enhancement, use of a deadly weapon (F)
  • Jordan Castillo, 17, Murder 1st degree (F), Robbery (F) - 2 counts
  • Miguel Angel-Martinez, 15, Murder 1st degree (F), Robbery (F) - 2 counts

One of the aggravated battery charges against suspect Daniel Alaniz Pineda, has been updated to a 1st Degree Murder charge.

The 17 and 15 year-old minors are being charged as adults and are also each facing First Degree Murder charges.
