"The Toughest Race in the Northwest" is back for it's 40th year and if you're quick on the draw, you might be lucky enough to to score one of the limited number of entries!

The race began as the "Idaho Summer Road Racing Championships" and had just 25 participants.  The race took runners from Fort Boise, up Reserve Street to Shaw Mountain Road and then climbed up through Rocky Canyon, over Aldape Summit to a finish at Robie Creek campground at Lucky Peak.  The half marathon course included 2,072 feet up elevation gain.

Now, the half marathon has grown into a right of passage for Treasure Valley runners and will take place on April 15th, 2017 at High Noon! Think you have what it takes to conquer the mountain and even more brutal downhill?  Only the first 2,100 runners get in and in 2016, those entries sold out in 10 minutes! If you don't get in, you've still got a chance at the torture if you enter the second chance drawing.  It opens immediately after registration fills and closes on February 26th. 200 more brave souls get in through that drawing!

Think you can guess exactly how soon Robie entries will sell out?  Then stop by Shu's Idaho Running Company at 17th & State and submit your guess.  Whoever is the closest to the official time will win a pair of FREE pair of shoes!

To those of you are crazy enough to want to run this race...GAME ON! I told myself 1,000 times that I never wanted to do Robie.  I told myself I rather run 26.2 miles again on the nice flat pavement, but something's stirring in the back of my crazy runner head and I'm going to be one of those people violently clicking to get into the race on Monday at high noon!

Wish me luck!!!
