First Responders here in Idaho and beyond are often tasked with what many would call 'impossible'.  Putting out fires, diffusing dangerous altercations, being the first on the scene to save a life-- we could go on.

In that line of work, the men and women in our local fire and police departments see a lot.

An incident that took place this past week has been shared online--offering the public a glimpse into what our crews see 'in the field' and how no two days are ever the same.

Take a look at the incident that has many Idahoans scratching their heads online:

Can you imagine falling down into that hole? Would you fit in a tight hole like that?

When you take a look at the photos of that hole, it's impossible to not wonder how on earth a human being fit down there! Luckily he wasn't alone when this happened!

Payette Fire Department shared the following statement on Facebook:

At 7:15 last night Payette Fire responded to a report of an individual who had fallen into a hole. On arrival we found an adult male in a hole that was about 10 feet deep and about 18 inches across.  A confined space rescue can pose many problems but with the combined efforts of the Payette Police Department, Payette County Paramedics and Jamie with Payette City Street Department we were able to rescue our patient rapidly and efficiently.
We literally cannot imagine being stuck inside of a tight and deep hole like this. We're grateful that this man was able to get first responders to him!
This is not the first time that first responders have had to take action in a 'unique' rescue lately. Just days ago, the Boise Fire Department had to team up with the Idaho National Guard to rescue a stranded rafter!
