Perhaps you were awoken by sirens blaring in the early morning hours of New Years's Day--or maybe you heard about the chaos after waking up in the morning. A high speed police chase sped through Meridian and ended up causing a significant amount of damage in a residential area.

It isn't something that you see in the Treasure Valley very often--a car trying to escape police at high speeds?

That's exactly what happened when roads were slick just days ago.

Here is a look at the damage from this reckless pursuit:

We're in shock at the damage done by this driver trying to flee police.

Meridian Police told a local television news station that the vehicle refused to stop, continued at high speeds, and did not obey traffic controls.

Not only were multiple vehicles hit and seriously damaged by the driver fleeing police--but damage to a local home was incurred as well.

Can you imagine waking up to a crash like this in front of your home?

The chase eventually ended on Chateau Drive.

In moments like this, we're thankful for our local law enforcement officers that took this driver off of the road and into custody. There are no further details on the situation at this time and thus far, we're only aware of a felony evasion charge for the 33 year-old male.

This isn't the first time a high speed chase has caused crazy damage in Boise:

Boise High Speed Chase Caught on Camera

On Sunday, April 10th, a high speed chase took place in the streets of Boise. The pursuit by Boise Police eventually ended near Bishop Kelly High School where more drama played out. Fantastic footage was captured by Vin Crosby, a well-known Boise meteorologist who said that during the chase, the suspect came within just feet of hitting him.
