Should Idaho Legalize Open Alcohol Laws Like Las Vegas?
We're going to highly encourage you don't walk around downtown Boise with an open container of alcohol. We're also going to highly encourage you to not drink from said open container while walking around downtown Boise.
Because that's not legal here in Idaho.
Should we change that?
Carrying an open container & consuming it in public is legal in Las Vegas.
Meaning, you can absolutely crack a beer on the sidewalk and face zero repercussions. In Idaho, that'd get you a citation at a minimum, and definitely a worse fate if you don't play nice with the officer(s) who are trying to serve justice.
Now, you can drink alcohol in Boise parks. That is, if you behave and follow the rules, and are of course over 21 years of age. Duh.
Would you be in support of a new Idaho law that would allow those of a legal age to drink alcohol out in public? Is that a good idea to boost alcohol sales and tourism, or would it result in alcohol-related incidents in the future?

If you're new to the Boise area, and are having a difficult time finding your way around, allow us to help. There are plenty of good drinking spots in the Treasure Valley. However, there are a few locations where you won't be able to order your favorite drink all willy-nilly.
We're not saying you should actively avoid these places, just don't expect to get a buzz on at any of them.
