Over the past two years, Boise State's athletic department has seen significant growth. Whether it's increases in facilities and technical upgrades or improved recruiting and competitiveness--the Broncos have been growing in the right direction.

Perhaps the greatest story of growth is the success of the men's basketball program.

Traditionally, the team has finished in the middle of the pack of Mountain West teams, having given the top a run for their money, but ending up in the NIT post-season tournament. The script has been completely flipped over the last two seasons, however, and now basketball fans in Boise have a lot to look forward to during the 2023-2024 season!

With transfers coming in, most notably from major programs like the University of Kansas, promise is big for this coming season led by Leon Rice.

A few games into the season, the strength of schedule for the Broncos has been the best it has been in many years--and while the team has had some losses, a lot of promise has been shown by the team.

Earlier this year, a blockbuster of a game was announced and nobody saw it coming.

The game, which is going to be held in Idaho Falls, Idaho in a relatively new indoor arena, will host a up and coming west coast power in Boise State and a perennial power in the west, Saint Mary's College.

Fans have been looking forward to this one for weeks and now, it's finally here. While Saint Mary's College is no longer ranked in the Top 25-- a win over this high profile team will be huge for the Broncos.

While the venue isn't as large as ExtraMile Arena, it's almost double the size of what Saint Mary's plays in at home!

We now know that the tipoff will be at 8:30 p.m. offering fans plenty of time to make the drive East for the game.

Boise State's Most Underappreciated Star

Boise State seems to mean "football" for most, right? On a national stage, after all, it's the blue turf and the success that the Broncos have had on it that made the university a household name. What happens on the hardwood, however, is far from appreciated at the level that it should be. Leon Rice came to Boise State as a blessing from one of the most powerful basketball programs in the nation: Gonzaga University. Now, the winningest basketball coach in the history of the school seems to take immediate heat if the Broncos aren't in the Final Four. Spoiled by wins on the football field, fans seem to expect the same of the basketball program but when the investment in basketball is so much less than football--can you really have these types of expectations!?

This Former Nampa Basketball Star is ESPN's Darling

It's not often that you see Sports Center re-run a single play as often as they did last night. The good folks at ESPN could not get enough of the dominating performance by one particular Texas Tech player who left it all on the court. His team defeated Baylor-- the defending National Champion and the only remaining undefeated team in the country this season.
Plot twist, this player has some serious Idaho ties-- with NO offers out of High School, Adonis Arms played in Nampa at Northwest Nazarene University where he gained the skill set and the reputation to make his way up to the big time stage.
