Idaho continues to struggle it's way through a public health crisis that's dragged on far longer than is good for any of us. The pandemic has led to elevated levels of stress, anxiety and anger that we haven't really dealt with before.

Some of us are better at managing it than others. When the world shut down, I thought I was going to ride it out by running more miles than I had since I trained for my last marathon and gratitude journaling. I went in to lockdown thinking I could maintain my positivity. After all, it was just 21 days, right?

I can now tell you I was incredibly naïve. As lockdown dragged on, I found myself unmotivated to lace up my running shoes. I was facing new pressures on the job. My marriage became more difficult to manage. I escaping reality by binge watching superhero movies and TV shows. For a while, it was the only thing that made me happy.

As I re-watched Avegeners for the hundredth time, I found myself getting jealous of the Hulk. Bruce Banner is already angry and he gets away smashing whatever he wants because no one wants to challenge a giant green rage monster. What a release!

You know that feeling I'm describing. That overwhelming urge you get to smash your laptop or throw a plate at a wall because you're just so frustrated and other stress relievers like green tea and meditation aren't cutting it. You hold yourself back, because at the end of the day you really don't want to break your $1,000 MacBook or anything else you may miss one day. That and it's not really socially acceptable to do things like that at home or in the office.

Well, what if I told you there was a place where you could go Hulk out, blow off some stress and absolutely destroy stuff that's not yours? Meet Hammer Time Idaho, a new rage room in Nampa! Hammer Time provides not only provides you a space to smash stuff in, they provide you all the safety equipment you need to shatter glass without needing stitches or losing an eye and the tools to do it with. We're talking baseball bats, crowbars, sledgehammers, golf clubs and more. (Although, just chucking things at a wall and watching them explode is an equally fun release!)

You can bring your own breakables and have the Hammer Time crew do all the clean-up or buy one of their specially curated packages that could include anything from bottles, dishware and ceramics to televisions, windshields and microwaves! Depending on which package you buy (or how much you bring) your session could last anywhere between 10-45 minutes.

I truly believe that if it weren't for Marco, I would've lost what was left of my sanity months ago. We've been through a lot together this past year, so when I saw an ad for Hammer Time following me around Facebook we knew we had to go blow off some steam. We worked up a sweat, had a blast and felt so free after! If you've been struggling with managing your stress, this is a killer way to let it all out that you won't regret!

You can find Hammer Time at 421 Caldwell Blvd #105 in Nampa and check out the packages they offer HERE.

BTW, if you're having a hard time picturing what a rage room is like, we filmed a little bit of our session. Feel free to watch and it and steal any of the stages of rage that we perfected! 'The Frisbee' and 'The Carrie Underwood' were my favorites!
