Tawsha’s Trending Stories – May 23
I'll just give you a quick recap of stories we're all talking about today. There's not a lot of noise or repeats - just the stuff you'll want to hear. Today, let's talk about a Grey's Anatomy spoiler, who is throwing shade at Madonna's Prince tribute and the terrifying position Taylor Swift is in.
The Billboard Music Awards were last night. There was so much hype around the performers including Meghan Trainor, Nick Jonas with Tove Lo, Justin Bieber and Kesha – who got a standing ovation. Someone who wasn’t there was Bruno Mars. He tweeted from home, though.
Then, the Prince tribute happened. Madonna stepped on stage turning around in a giant purple chair singing Nothing Compares 2U. Stevie Wonder joined her on stage and the crowd sang along to Purple Rain.
There isn’t a great response following the tribute. So much so that BET posted a video with Prince’s iconic symbol and the date for their own award show. The words under the date (June 26) was, “Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We got you.”
Taylor Swift and her squad are being targeted by someone clearly not all there. They are receiving death threats. He’s doing all of this on Twitter. Also being targeted are Chrissy Teigen and Jaime King. Police got a search warrant to comb through twitter’s records that could lead them to their culprit. So far, the police haven’t found the information they need to close in on this guy.
Grey’s Anatomy fans: Prepare to say goodbye to Dr. Callie Torres. Looks like we’ll be going through the same emotions as creator Shonda Rhimes WHO FOUND OUT THREE DAYS BEFORE US! Sara Ramirez (the actress who plays Dr. Callie Torres) only approached Shonda days before making the announcement saying “I really need to take this break.” Shonda’s response was “I was lucky that we’d shot the end of the season with her going to New York.”
We have not heard the last of the Chewbacca mask lady. She has received over 135 million views on her Facebook video where her laugh is so contagious you can’t help but laugh along with her. Not only did her video break Facebook records but Kohl’s visited her at home and gifted the entire family the Chewbacca masks along with other presents and gift cards totaling $2,500. Candace Payne is the Chewbacca lady and she says she’s just happy she felt so much joy and was able to share it with other people.
