I'm up on stage with Chris and I typically black out and remember nothing. I'm like most of the population when it comes to speaking in front of crowds - it's terrifying. Not for my son, though.

I'm what people call an extroverted introvert. Or something like that. I can make friends easily and I hold friendships but I can't walk myself into a room and take over. Chris, on the other hand, can do just that. I love big events and meeting everyone I possibly can, it's just that sometimes I get nervous.

I have a child. His name is Colton. He is a lot like me in most ways with one exception - he loves being the center of attention.

Chris and I (Cruise & Box) hosted a night focused on dance in the Treasure Valley. The event was incredible. The idea was dreamt up by a guy named Mikey Castro who started the Starving Artist Chronicles. The night was named "A Dancer's Prologue". Watching the dream of Mikey's come true while sharing the stage with dancers who have talent far beyond the level of any average human.

A Dancer's Prologue was an event people would travel to Salt Lake City or Denver or Seattle for but, in this case, everyone met here in Boise. The pride for our city was powerful at the Egyptian.

Sitting in the audience is my son Colton. He's a kid who loves hip hop (both dance and music) and feels as if breakdancing is something you just do - rather than train for. I don't have the heart to tell him he's incorrect but I do tell him that headstands need to be practiced. I let him be his true self so none of his ideas or passions or confidence is squashed.

Even when it results in this:

His confidence is at a level I will never be able to match. I'm not one of those American Idol tryout parents who believes everything he does is perfect. The passion behind it is what I'm supporting. So, while I get C signed up for hip hop and at least a starting level breakdancing class, I want to thank Mikey and every single amazing dancer who welcomed us to be part of the event on Saturday night.

If you need me, I'll just be sitting here letting Colton take the spotlight while I slowly meet each and every one of you and make you my good friend. That's more my style.

What's your personality type?
