The 2018 Mutt Madness Champion Has Been Chosen
The Mutt Madness competition has come to an end and we have a 2018 champion. Hundreds of pups joined but only the top 64 were voted in.
Congratulations to all the contestants and props to the quality of photos this year. Great job!
Let's first thank Emerald Street Kennels who did an outstanding job hosting this competition and provided most of the prizes including our $400 grand prize. These guys have gone about and well beyond expectations to assist in this promotion. (ESK) is my ultimate resting spot for our pup Ace. I promise when he leaves the kennel - ACE is down for days in exhaustion. These dogs get a lot of exercises and play time with other dogs.
I will say the most impressive thing about Emerald Street Kennels was how much the trainers loved the dogs. You can usually tell with people and it was obvious they knew my dog from the last visit and was genuinely interested in him. I thought that was a great attribute.
Let's get to our winners for Mutt Madness 2018
Mack! Mack is a little spitfire with the attitude of a champion and a heart of gold. In the infamous smackdown of Mutt Madness 2016, Mack made it to the grrr-eat eight, which would have been a great accomplishment for any dog, but this isn't a canine who takes Kindly to second (or eighth) best. This year, Mack is in it for all the kibbles and takes home top prize as Top Dog!
Mack will take home a $400 dollar gift card from Emerald Street Kennels and BMF Hook-up for
Trout's came in as your runner-up and it was close. Trout is a one and a half-year-old golden retriever who adores people (mostly for the tummy rubs) and who would do anything for a puppy treat (including posing for this picture). He's an outdoorsy kinda guy who also lives up to his name by wishing he could spend most of his free time in the water. Trout's other hobbies include; sleeping, napping, and running in his dreams.
Trout also won free weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels and 4 passes to the Boise Music Festival.
NIKO (Third Place) Weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels + (4) Boise Music Festival Passes.
Rubicon (Fourth Place) Weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels + (4) Boise Music Festival Passes.
Kona (Fifth Place): Weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels + (4) Boise Music Festival Passes.
Benny (Sixth Place) Weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels + (4) Boise Music Festival Passes.
Draco (Seventh Place) Weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels + (4) Boise Music Festival Passes.
Oliver (8th Place) Weekend boarding at Emerald Street Kennels + (4) Boise Music Festival Passes.
Next up: Feline Frenzy for all the cat lovers. This time there will be a panel of judges and voting rounds will come in the later portion of the contest!
