The Longest ‘Water Coaster’ in America Just Opened Up in Idaho

We're declaring it now, Idaho.

Summer is here!

It's fair to say that Idahoans have been waiting for this moment--blue skies, warm temperatures, and lots to do in the great outdoors. For many, this time of year means NO SCHOOL, as well.

For just over a year, many outdoor and summertime enthusiasts have been counting down the days until a major grand opening: the expansion of an Idaho water park that includes the nation's longest water coaster-- and the FIRST water coaster on the west coast.

Here's a look at what has water park lovers jealous of Idaho!

It has been awesome to see this expansion take place--originally, all we had were digital renderings. Now, we have real photos!

The entire expansion takes up about 4-acres, which is huge. The project and addition, which consist mostly of this massive, nationally recognized water slide, is being titled "Emerald Forest".

When it comes to this big slide-you can expect to be speeding along a slide that is 925 feet in length! The ride includes going through three "flying saucers", going up four hills, and a final splash that goes down an unmatched slope.

It's time to road trip, Idaho. This slide is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

In a release from the water park, their excitement was clear:

With this water coaster having two lanes, not only will you be able to race against your friends, but we are setting up a truly unique time trials experience where you will be able to pick your prey and race down the slide like an eagle in pursuit of its prey. If you get to the bottom in the specified time, you will have "caught" your prey. If you don't make it in time, the prey will have got away. We are excited to finally bring a water coaster to the Pacific Northwest and give our guests the opportunity to experience one of these amazing attractions.
