These Oktoberfest Events Begin in Boise This Weekend
It seems like yesterday that we hosted the Boise Music Festival. We've just transitioned from 100-degree heat right into Fall temperatures and that means the warm weather might just be over. So, let's have a Bier!
I was just writing about Oktoberfest at the Ste Chapelle Winery on Sunday when I saw another list of events that begin Saturday. This is when I did it and fell down the rabbit hole. I use that analogy when an innocent search turns into an abyss of clicking realizing - it happened, Alice! That's okay because I never knew that we had so many German restaurants in Boise. That brings us to our first one that celebrates one year in Boise, Das Alpenhaus Delikatessen.
Are you ready to Prost for some Biers? Let's grab a Bierkrug and wait...can you smell the Dirndl? I'm sorry that could get annoying as I try to speak German with a silly app translator. Follow me for some great beer, brats, and German pretzels!
Saturday, September 29-30
Das Alpenhaus Delikatessen [1340 South Vista Avenue in Boise] will be celebrating their almost one year anniversary with a traditional Oktoberfest menu. They will be serving eight different Festbiers, Radler and a Weissbier in traditional MaBkrug.
The new German spot will also be serving Schweinehaxe, Rotkohl, German potato salad. Oktoberfest Teller (3 sausages, Rotkohl, Sauerkraut & German potato salad.
Take home a Gingerbread Heart to wear in true Bavarian Oktoberfest tradition.
Oompah bands will be entertaining as you drink one after the other!
Saturday, September 30
Old Boise 6th & Main will be hosting a traditional Oktoberfest celebration in the streets of downtown Boise! Listen to some great bands like Wolfie & the Bavarians and Pilot Error.
Grab some Bier and play Stein Hosting, Mug Relay, Brat tossing and lots of dancing! The first 500 receive collectable hat pins, glass bier stein, free bier and entrance to play and win more.
This event goes 3 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Can get out this weekend? We'll see you next weekend in downtown Boise for two days of German celebrating! This event is hosted by Prost! Boise and their drinking to three years strong. Expect the giant beer garden on N. 8th street in front of the pub for a large block party.
This year's biers come from Hofbrau, Ayinger, Warsteiner, Paulaner, and more. The Edelweiss band will be entertaining with traditional German music both nights. There's also a rock cover band from Seattle, Hammerschlagen.
Prost! is going all out with Stammtisch Chef Graham Chaney from Portland with house-made favorites like bratwurst, currywurst, doner kebabs, and giant pretzels.
This event is free to all ages.
