Three Places to Watch March Madness in Boise
It's the most wonderful time of the year for basketball fans in the Treasure Valley: March Madness. Whether your team is "in" or not, there is NO debating that this month-long sporting event is one of the greatest in all of sports. Having graduated from Gonzaga University myself--the passion I have for this time of year and my ZAGS is unreal. I'm lucky to be surrounded by good people that put up with me during our watch parties.
So, where does one WATCH these games? Home is a fine option--but why not make it an event? Going into opening weekend of the big tournament, here are MY three suggestions for your watch party pleasure!
1. Tapohouse in Downtown Boise
I absolutely love everything about Taphouse. Most importantly when it comes to March Madness--there are plenty of TV screens. If you're a beer person, there is a huge menu of locally sourced and brewed beers along with the classic domestic favorites. If you prefer a cocktail--Taphouse has a full bar as well. Located right on Main Street, you're close to everything and win or lose if you need to stumble up the street the options are ample.
2. Brixx Craft House
We love Brixx here at 103.5 KISS FM. The food (especially the massive plate of nachos) are always on point. The bar offers PLENTY of drink options and the screens are massive. I've definitely watched by Zags here before. Located off of State Street, it's a little bit of a hike from the rest of the action in town but if you're not getting too crazy, I can't recommend them enough.
3. Sockeye Brewing
I'll never forget when Gonzaga took a hard loss to Texas Tech just before getting into the Final Four two seasons ago. Neither will the staff at Sockeye--who literally watched me cry at the bar like a little boy. Sockeye has become my personal go-to for game watch parties. It's low key vibe, amazing locally brewer beer, and ON-POINT FOOD always keeps me happy.
