Sure to go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game of football, Tom Brady tracked down Idaho's own Leighton Vander Esch following Dallas' defeat of Brady & company on Monday night football:
Tom Brady Seeks Out Boise State Star for Words of Advice
The moment was totally priceless--and no matter how big of a star Vander Esch is these days, it seems that he might have been a little star struck! Who wouldn't be!?
Twice in the game against Tampa Bay, Vander Esch nearly picked off Tom Brady, which not many can say they have done! After the game, Brady sought out the former Boise State stud and said "catch one next week!", acknowledging that Vander Esch is the real deal and almost got Brady!
During his time at Boise State, Leighton Vander Esch was not only one of the best linebackers in program history but was a standout on a national stage as well. A walk-on athlete from Riggins, Idaho, Leighton eventually went on to be the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and signed with the Dallas Cowboys after skipping his senior year at Boise State.
Leighton Vander Esch went 19th overall in the NFL draft, a major look for Boise State, and signed a big $11.84 Million deal.
