Trendy Boise Favorite Announces Permanent Closure This Weekend

Here in the Treasure Valley, we're lucky to be home to so many great bars and restaurants. So often, these establishments are long time favorite and perhaps even more exciting--they're locally owned.

Folks in Boise love to buy and support local business.

Businesses open and close regularly, but the sting burns just a little extra when it's a local business closing down. You always want the best for staff and ownership-- corporate America will survive. Local businesses need to thrive!

In an email blast to its regular customers and in a couple of different social media posts, both House of Western and Due West said:

'We will miss you, Boise'.

In 2021, 'Western Proper' was born--a sit down restaurant, bar, and all around 'fun zone' based off of the ownership's flagship brand, Western Collective Beer.

Just months ago, we shared with you that the large space was being divided up into multiple concepts

Without going into much detail, both House of Western and Due West shared a similar statement:

We are incredibly grateful for your support, whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or recently discovered us. Your patronage, passion for great food, and love for this community have made Due West a special place. While we’re sad to close this chapter, we are filled with gratitude for the unforgettable moments we’ve shared.

We should be clear, however, that Western Collective (both the beer & the brewery) and going NOWHERE! 

Visit House of Western or Due West this week--they will be open through close on Saturday, October 19th.

Closure has been a theme for many large corporations across the country over the last year--some of them had locations right here in Idaho
