One of my co-workers makes fun of me for having a pair of ice skates in my trunk, but this weekend, the joke's on him! I finally have a reason to use them!

The skating rink in The Village at Meridian opens for the season Saturday at noon! The rink will be open daily through January 28th, weather permitting.

Want to show off your Tara Lipinski or Johnny Weir skills? Admission is $5 for kids 12 and under and $7 for adults. Skate rental is also available for those who don't have a pair in their trunk year round like I do! (In my defense, I bought these when I accidentally signed up for a figure skating class in college. It was a gym credit, so I just assumed that we'd be skating ovals around the rink for an hour and a half for fitness. Nope. I was so wrong! By the end of the semester, I'd learned how to jump. Not well, but I could jump.)

The rink is closed on November 17th in order to make way for the Christmas Tree Lighting event and Santa's grand arrival.

Michelle's Pro-Tip for Warming Up Afterward

Team Run Boise's started going to Village Cinema's "Backstage Bistro" after our runs on Wednesday night and they have the absolute best service (at least when it comes to large groups like us) of any of the restaurants in The Village. They also have some amazing some amazing adult hot chocolates.  I can't remember the names off the top of my head, but I know there's a cinnamon hot chocolate made with Goldschlager and a mint one made with Peppermint Schnapps! It's the perfect way to wind down from a romantic skating date!
