While it may feel like the United States is at odds with herself as of late, there's one thing we can all agree on, no matter our political affiliation:

Everyone needs to shower.

We're agreeing on that, right? No one wants to act like they never take a shower? Ok good. Then we can proceed.

According to a new survey, we have some information about how long (on average) citizens in each state stay in the shower. And, some of y'all be in there a long, long loooong time.

Idahoans take some of the longest showers in the U.S., clocking in at around 15 and 1/2 minutes spent in the shower every single day.

Mississippi takes the longest showers at over 19 minutes, and Maine and Arizona take the shortest showers by far.

37% of Americans admit to relieving themselves in the shower.

Here's another interesting statistic: Americans (again, on average) are skipping one-two days a week in the shower. The average is around 5.9 showers per week. Just don't tell us which days you're skipping. We don't want to know.

Here's a fun fact you may not know: It's actually pretty dangerous to shower during a thunderstorm. So, if you find yourself on one of those 5.9 days of the week where you need to wash the grime off yourself, try to schedule it around any tumultuous weather, okay?
