Major Changes Announced For Idaho’s Largest Fair

Right now in the middle of December with winter on it's way we can't help but already thinking about summer and all of the fun things that happen when summer comes along.

One of the best parts about summer by far has to be the Western Idaho Fair. Every year everyone from around Idaho wants to experience the Western Idaho Fair. For about a week they set up at the fair grounds in Garden City for a super fun week or so filled with concerts, fried fair food, and tons of fun vendors and rides.

The Western Idaho Fair is always such a highlight that the community was asking for even more fair fun and the fair agreed!

Every year the fair usually begins around mid-August and goes on for about 10 days. While these 10 days are always packed with people and activities it has been getting hard for some families to make it to the fair considering the back-to-school schedule here in Idaho.

Parents had been reaching out to get the fair started a little bit earlier so that their kids can experience it before school starts and the Western Idaho Fair agreed that this would be a great idea.

The 2026 Western Idaho Fair schedule remains the same and will be from Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 30.

However moving into 2027 we will begin to see some changes. To make the schedule better, longer, and more accessibly to everyone they will move the dates to Friday, August 13 through Sunday, August 29.

Then for 2028 we will see the earliest start dates and the longest Western Idaho Fair yet with the dates being Friday, August 4 through Sunday, August 20.
