They're probably the most vilified band on the planet. But is all this shade thrown at Nickelback actually justified?

A college student in Finland set out to discover the answer for herself.

The young lady studied 14 years worth of reviews of Nickelback, and here's what she came up with:

Nickelback is too much of everything to be enough of something. They follow genre expectations too well, which is seen as empty imitation, but also not well enough, which is read as commercial tactics and as a lack of a stable and sincere identity.

By the way, her study's official name is "Hypocritical Bull[crap] Performed Through Gritted Teeth: Authenticity Discourses in Nickelback's Album Reviews in Finnish Media."

I have no idea what the study is trying to say, but oh my lord that title is everything.
