The 'tallest creature on land' just so happens to live here in Boise, Idaho and an upcoming annual event celebrating them is going to offer you and the family a really awesome chance to get up close and personal with them.

When is the last time that you have visited Zoo Boise?

Unless you have kids--or unless you are a kid, it might have been a while since you've been. Many of us that were lucky enough to have grown up here in Boise know Zoo Boise from really awesome field trips as a kid! We're thinking it might be time to get back out there...

Zoo Boise's two giraffes, Jabari and Tafari, just so happen to love romaine lettuce...and the zoo just so happens to have a whole lot of that lettuce ready to roll.

Taking place THIS WEEK, Zoo Boise is inviting the public to come by, climb up onto a tall platform, and feed these two Boise giraffes  in person!

As long as the weather is nice, you can do so Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Zoo Boise!

According to Zoo Boise officials, the giraffes absolutely love the lettuce--and the visitors. During the time frame, there's a chance the giraffes will choose not to wander over for a bite. If that is the case, your visit up to the top will be totally free. If you get to spend some time feeding the Giraffes, your 'encounter' will cost just $5.

We love that Zoo Boise is letting the community have such a fun (and ethical) shot at meeting the giraffes!
