Zoo Boise Red Pandas Leaving “Temporary” Home After 20 Years
There's always something fun to do in Boise and when there's a zoo in the heart of the city you know there's going to be nothing short of a good time.
Zoo Boise especially has no shortage of activities! Just a couple of months ago they hosted an after hours tour of the zoo. This gave everyone the opportunity see the zoo in a whole new way after dark! If you attended the event you got a guided after-hours tour where you may have seen different animals and their different behaviors after hours. The event gave those an opportunity to see the animals potentially even get wild.
Shortly after they had a spring camp for kids. This camp taught kids what it's like working in a zoo and provided them with learning opportunities like exhibit design, how to plan diets, how to identify scat, make enrichment and how people and zoos protect animals in the wild. They even had the opportunity to learn how to "train animals".
Overall, Zoo Boise always has something fun going on for all of the lovely Boise residents but this time it's more fun for the animals as they get a major upgrade.

The red pandas in Zoo Boise have been in what was supposed to be a temporary home since 2004, according to the Zoo Website. This exciting exhibit, The Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage, will include adequate space for the red panda cubs, even more climbing opportunities, and give the pandas comfortable temperatures year round. Of course there will also be a pathway for the guests and a window view into the day room.
