Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, Boise. For weeks, the Treasure Valley was singing that along with a handful of other snow-themed carols as Christmas approached-- yet we were not granted a white Christmas in the slightest.

Now, with Christmas behind us, the snow has decided to arrive in the Treasure Valley and folks are conflicted. Sure, it's nice-- but when it isn't a part of the holiday spirit it can really be more of an inconvenience--adding time to commutes and risks to the roads. Students of course, are thrilled we've seen some snow days so far!

So what's the latest with the roads? According to the Ada County Highway District, it is game time.

Snow on the valley floor for several days now has meant that Ada County Highway District plows and works are in 24-hour activation mode. The good folks at ACHD, to be clear, are always on call for the safety of our community on the roads--with these conditions, however, the crews are going to begin working alternating 12-hour shifts to make sure that there is appropriate manpower available. There are ongoing and pending storms going into the weekend that may need lots of attention!

According to officials, the best thing that you can do to help out is just make sure you're giving the plows plenty of space to do their jobs on the road!
