Remember way back when (a few weeks ago) when Albertsons and Kroger almost merged into a super-mecha-grocery kaiju? Well, that didn't happen, but it isn't stopping Albertsons from firing peoiple.
Albertsons is "reducing workforce" at the Boise, Idaho headquarters.
Yes, you read that correctly. Folks are already being let go from the offices at the Albertsons HQ here in Boise.
Here's what Albertsons statement to KBOI had to say:
Our strategy to win and earn customers for life includes finding new sources of productivity to enable us to invest in growth. After many years of productivity efforts across several parts of our company, we recently turned our attention to our general and administrative expenses and made the difficult decision to reduce the size of our corporate and division workforce.
