If there is one thing that people here in the Treasure Valley get passionate about, it's their favorite businesses.

It doesn't matter if the business is locally owned (which we all love and prefer) or one of these major national chains that has popped up. If it's a store or a restaurant that someone loves, they often develop cult-like followings around here.

News of businesses closing is never fun...but unfortunately, a local favorite has announced they'll be closing their doors for good and people have STRONG opinions.

Have you driven up Milwaukee lately? The signs are up and the news is out... Al's Sporting Goods will be closing their doors for good and they're looking to clear their shelves as son as possible.

Al's Sporting Goods came to Boise from Utah in 2022 and touted the best deals on the most popular brands. From clothes to bikes and everything in between for an active lifestyle, Al's had competitive pricing and great product selection in their 43,000 square-foot store next to Barns & Noble.

Now, we only have a couple of months of them left.

One popular local influencer page on Instagram, Becca from '@BoiseWithKids', posted up a worthy recap of just how much families loved getting into Al's for deals on just about everything

When we tell you that we FELT this tribute...

We spoke with the local team at Al's Sporting Goods in Boise and they confirmed the rumors. The store will indeed be closing and their last day in business will be October 17th, 2026.

According to signs around the store, 'Everything Must Go!'--so, get in there and grab some deals while they last.
